Although CBD Oil and Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) are cannabis extracts, they do have their differences.
Rick Simpson Oil is illegal. The substance reached public awareness through a documentary called “Run From the Cure.” The documentary chronicles Simpson’s experience in using the oil on cancerous spots on his body. Simpson claimed that upon using the oil, the spots healed. There are those who believe that the oil can address issues such as cancer, epileptic seizures, and certain chronic diseases.
Further, unlike legal forms of CBD Oil that have a THC level of 0.3% or less, Rick Simpson Oil has a much higher level of THC. In any case, because RSO cannot be purchased, many resort to making the substance at home.
There is also another similar substance called “Hemp Derived RSO” that can be found on the market. Although this substance may look like traditional RSO based on the consistency and appearance, the difference is that it contains less than 0.3% THC. As a result, the main quality that sets RSO apart from traditional CBD, which is the high THC content, is not present. This makes it a non-RSO product. However, that does not mean that hemp-derived RSO products may not have beneficial qualities. There are a number of brands that sell hemp-derived RSO and it is up to the purchaser to determine whether the product is right for them based on the product description, user reviews, and other factors.
